

Missouri State University is located in Springfield, Missouri, the third largest population center in Missouri. College of Business Administration (COBA) is accredited by the AACSB International--The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The accreditation means that COBA and CIS have joined the ranks of only two percent of the business programs in the country that meet high standard of teaching, research, and faculty credentials.
Computer Informatin Systems (CIS), one of the six departments in the College of Business Administration, is housed in Glass Hall, named for Missouri State University alumus and former Wal-Mart CEO David Glass. The two major factors of a successful CIS program are the faculty and technical resources. The faculty continue to do research, publishing in academic journals and presenting conference papers as required by the AACSB International. Faculty holds its doctorates from New York, California, as well as the neighboring regions of the Southwest and Southeast United States. A new curriculum offers students opportunites to learn computer languages such as Java, Visual Basic, COBOL, and RPG. CIS majors have additional opportunities to study Oracle, analysis and design, operating systems, and web development.
