Looking For Transfer Credit?

You may have a computer course on your transcript that has been evaluated as a "CIS 000" course. If you believe that the course should have been evaluated as an equivalent Missouri State CIS course, then gather supporting material, e.g. catalog description, syllabus, books, etc, and make an appointment with the CIS office. The Department Head will evaluate your evidence and make a judgment as to the proper course evaluation.  CIS majors can transfer in a maximum of 15 hours of CIS course work.

You can view a list of schools and the corresponding courses that transfer to Missouri State University at https://www.secure.missouristate.edu/appadm/transequiv/transequiv.asp .  If your school or course is not listed, you may discuss the course with the department head.

If you want to know what Missouri State course and number goes to what school, then go to the link:

In general, courses from 2-year schools are eligible as transfer courses for lower division CIS courses numbered 200 and below. Courses from 2-year schools may be transferred in as upper division (300 and above) if the student can "validate" the transfer by making a "C" or better in an advanced Missouri State course in the same area.  For example, CIS 528, Oracle database, can validate a transferred course which has been accepted for the Missouri State database course, CIS 326.
